Keyword Research: how it works

  1. 01

    The request

A seed keyword, a list, a domain or a pair of domains, on a market made of country and language.

  2. 02

    The results

Up to 100 keywords with monthly volume, CPC and competition, usually within a couple of minutes.

  3. 03

    The project

The chosen keywords enter the project’s rank tracking and get search intent and SEO difficulty.

Keyword Research: four ways to find keywords, with Google data

Four search modes

Start from what you already have: a word, a list, a site or a competitor.

  • Related keywordsFrom a seed keyword, up to 100 suggestions with their numbers.
  • List analysisUp to 100 pasted keywords, one per line or comma-separated, measured one by one.
  • By domainKeywords related to the content of a site, your own or a competitor’s.
  • Keyword gapKeywords related to a competitor’s domain and not to yours: the topics you are missing.

The numbers for every keyword

For each result, the data you need to decide whether it is worth working on.

  • Monthly search volumeThe monthly average of Google searches for the chosen country and language.
  • CPCWhat a click costs in ads: a direct signal of the commercial value of the search.
  • CompetitionLow, medium or high, with a 0 to 100 index of how contested the keyword is in ads.
  • The right market91 markets combining country and language; when results are few, a notice suggests checking the chosen market.

From research to project

The keywords you find become tracked keywords, without copy and paste.

  • Add to projectOne click and the keyword enters rank tracking for the chosen project.
  • Already trackedKeywords already in the project are marked in the results.
  • Intent and difficulty in the projectOnce added, keywords get search intent and SEO difficulty, refreshed every month.
  • Recent searchesThe last 10 searches are saved and reopen without using the monthly quota.

Other keyword sources in Miraqo

Keyword research is not the only place new ideas come from.

  • Untracked queriesFrom Search Console, searches where the site already appears but that are not tracked yet.
  • Competitor keyword gapIn Competitor analysis, the keywords where competitors rank and the site does not.
  • CSV importKeywords already tracked elsewhere come into the project from other tools’ exports too.
  • AI connectorThe same research can be started from Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant connected to Miraqo.

Keyword research starts from a keyword, a list or a domain and returns queries with monthly search volume, CPC and competition, for the chosen country and language. The four modes cover the cases that actually come up: keywords related to a seed, the analysis of a ready-made list, keywords related to a domain’s content, and the gap, meaning those related to a competitor and not to your site.

Results are added to the project with one click and enter rank tracking: from there they get search intent and SEO difficulty, refreshed every month, and feed the other analyses. Recent searches stay saved and reopen without using quota, so a list prepared yesterday does not have to be redone today.

Questions about keyword research

From Google data for the chosen country and language: it is the average of monthly searches, not an estimate produced by a model.

How contested the keyword is in Google ads: low, medium or high, with a 0 to 100 index. It signals commercial value; SEO difficulty arrives once the keyword is in a project.

Yes. Every search has its own market, country plus language, among the 91 available: volumes and suggestions change with the market.

In the project’s keyword table: once added, each keyword gets its intent (informational, commercial, transactional or navigational) and SEO difficulty, refreshed every month.

Yes, one by one with "Add to project": they enter rank tracking straight away. Keywords already tracked in the chosen project are marked in the results.

No. The last 10 searches stay saved in "Recent searches" and reopening them uses no monthly searches.
