AI Overview impact on keywords
How to read the AI Overview impact page — how many of your monitored keywords trigger Google's AI Overview, the trend over time, your site's status on each (cited, mentioned, at risk), who gets cited instead of you and the estimated clicks lost per month. Computed on SERP checks already run, without using credits.
Google’s AI Overview answers the query directly at the top of the SERP: when it appears and does not cite your site, part of the clicks your organic result would have received no longer arrive. This page measures how much this phenomenon affects the keywords you’re already monitoring.
Where to find it

Where the data comes from
From the rank-tracking SERP checks Miraqo already runs for your keywords: for each keyword we look at the latest detection in the last 45 days and read whether an AI Overview appeared and whether your site was among the cited sources.
Zero credits. The page aggregates data already collected: opening or browsing it doesn’t launch new checks and doesn’t consume anything.
The 4 stat cards
- Keywords analysed — how many keywords have a recent SERP check (within 45 days)
- With AI Overview — the percentage (and number) of keywords whose SERP showed an AI Overview, with the ▲/▼ change vs the previous check
- Cited as a source — among keywords with an AI Overview, how many cite your site as a source, with the same change
- Traffic at risk — the estimated clicks lost per month on at-risk keywords (see below)

Trend
The chart shows over time the share of keywords with an AI Overview (yellow line) and, among those, the share in which you are cited as a source (green line), across the whole check history. Each point is the state after the latest check of every keyword, so the last point always matches the cards. The axis adapts to the data: on a project with few AI Overviews the lines stay readable.
It answers the question “is the AI Overview spreading across my keywords?” — and if the green line doesn’t follow the yellow one, Google is generating answers on your territory while pulling from elsewhere.

Keywords with AI Overview
A single table with all monitored keywords on which the AI Overview appears: position, volume, your site’s status and clicks lost. The possible statuses:
- 🛡️ Cited as a source — your site is among the AI Overview’s sources: organic visibility is reinforced by the AI box rather than eroded. Keep an eye on them so you don’t lose the citation.
- 💬 Mentioned, no link — the brand appears in the answer text but the site is not among the linked sources.
- ⚠️ At risk — you’re in the organic Top 10 but the AI Overview doesn’t cite you: the AI box intercepts clicks before the user reaches your result. For these, the Clicks lost/month column estimates the difference in expected CTR with and without an AI Overview (in the Top 10 the reduction is around ~30%). They sit at the top of the table: it’s the list to work on first — you already have the ranking, you’re missing the citation.
- Not cited, outside Top 10 — there’s an AI Overview but you’re not on page one: here the problem is ranking first.

Who gets cited
The 🏆 ranking lists the domains cited as sources in the AI Overviews of your keywords (latest check of each), with the share of AI Overviews they appear in. Your site carries the you badge, competitors you already track the competitor tag; for the others the + add button opens the competitors modal pre-filled with the domain and brings you back here after saving.
Those that appear often are the ones Google considers authoritative on your topics: study their cited pages or add them as competitors to follow them in SERP rankings too.
Data from the next check. Source domains are saved by SERP checks run from 23 August 2026: if the section says “cited sources are saved from the next SERP check onwards”, just wait for the project’s next ranking round.
What to do with the results
- Many high-volume at-risk keywords → prioritise GEO: structure pages to be “extractable” by AI (concise answers up front, clear headers, schema markup, explicit data and sources).
- “Cited as a source” at 0% with many active AI Overviews → look at Who gets cited: those are the pages to compare with yours.
- Few keywords with AI Overview → the phenomenon barely touches you for now; the Trend chart tells you whether it’s growing.
